Discontinued: HTML to PDF conversion

PDF Mill parses HTML files and transforms them to PDF files. It focuses on being the basis for applications that produce PDF documentations from HMTL sources but can be used for any HTML to PDF conversion in general.

Features

The tool can be used as a command line utility or as a class to be built into other applications. Functionality includes

  • reads ordinary HTML code

  • transforms CSS formats as inline attributes and from separate CSS style sheets

  • automatically embeds true type fonts

  • optionally creates headers and footers

Sample output

See a sample of how HTML and CSS is transformed to PDF. As a test we use the HTML file holding the description of how to invoke PDF Mill from the command line:

Limitations

Although PDF Mill reads any HTML it mainly focuses on transformation of HTML text documents rather than web pages.

See also respective topic in the manual for further discussion.

The application has been tested with documens produced by SimplyHTML. If you have trouble with a certain HTML file please send in the HTML file in question along with the resulting PDF for an analysis.
