To run the Light Development File Manager a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 or later is required. The JRE can be obtained free of charge at

To use the Light Development File Manager to manage files on one or more remote machines the respective remote machines need to run a Java EE compliant servlet container such as Tomcat with the Light Development File Server installed.

Tomcat can be obtained free of charge at
http://tomcat.apache.org
Note that the Light Development File Manager and File Server do not require Tomcat. For other Java EE compliant servlet containers you could consult your Java technology provider or simply do a web search for JBoss, Resin, Orion or Jetty, etc.
