Introduction

The Light Development File Manager is an application to manage files commonly over different machines and operating systems.

Common user interface over different machines

The Light Development File Manager creates a graphical user interface which displays each folder in an own window. Such a folder window can be opened for folders on the local machine and for remote machines. File management actions such as create, move, copy, delete, pack, extract are done inside such folder windows regardless of which machine they represent.

This way file systems of differnt machines can be managed through one common desktop all in the same way.

Supports most operating systems

Being built on Java technology it can be used on any machine for which a Java runtime environment is available. With this not only different machines can be managed through one single desktop, the machines can run on different operating systems too.

With JREs available for Solaris, Unix, Linux, MacOS and Windows, one instance of the Light Development File Manager can be used to manage files on all kinds of different machines at the same time through one single desktop.
